World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze meeting and part of the Folksam Grand Prix series.

The meeting is organised by three top Swedish athletic clubs Turebergs FK, Hässelby SK and Spårvägens FK at the Sollentunavallen arena.

This document includes important information about the competition – please read it carefully!   

Information about airport pick up and  hotel service is for confirmed invited athletes.

 

Airport arrival

Arlanda airport:  You will be met at the airport and driven to the hotel. Please look out for someone with a ‘Sollentuna GP’ sign.

Skavsta airport: Take the airport bus (flygbuss) to Stockholm C and you will be met at the bus terminal.

You will get your room key at the reception. 

 

The Welcome desk at Scandic Star Hotel is located in the basement just below the reception area. There you will receive your meal tickets, accreditation, number bib and other information about the meeting. We will also have fruit and mineral water available.

 

Service at the hotel: The organiser will cover the costs of meals and lodging if that has been agreed.  You must pay all other expenses when you check out from the hotel.

 

Internet: Internet is free. The name of the network is scandiceasy. No password is needed.

 

Room cleaning on request

Scandic hotel sustainability policy is to only clean rooms when necessary.  Therefore, if you wish your room to be cleaned, please make a request at the hotel reception by 23:00 and it will be done the following day.

 

Check out: Latest check out time, if no other arrangement has been made with the meeting organiser, is 12:00.

 

Meals: All meals are served in the restaurant area on the ground floor.

 

Friday 8 August

Sunday 10 August

Breakfast:     7:00 to 14:00    Includes additional warm food from 10:00

Breakfast      06:30 to 10:00

Lunch            12:00 to 14:00

 

Massage: Check with the Welcome desk regarding times and appointments and sign up if you want treatment (20 min session) on the form provided. 

 

Training: At Sollentunavallen athletics arena which is only 1 km away, check with the Welcome desk regarding directions to the arena.  Please take your accreditation with you. 

Please note that a youth competition is taking place Friday to Sunday so if you want to use the arena please respect the events which are taking place.  The Athletics Hall is also available on all of these days and is not being used for the competition.

 

Transportation:

Please check with the Welcome Desk that we have your correct departure details.  We will post an airport transfer list on Sunday evening after the competition. 

 

Competition

 

Field events: The field events in the main programme, long jump, shot put and discus are mixed events.  All athletes will jump/throw in the first 3 rounds then the 4 best men and 4 best women will compete in the final 3 rounds.

 

Start lists: Start lists with lane assignments and start order will be displayed at the Welcome desk in the evening of Saturday 9 August.

Number bibs: Bibs must be collected from the Welcome desk on Sunday 10 August between 09:00 and 12:00.  One number must be worn on the front of your competition-vest and one on the back, long jumpers are allowed to use one number bib. The advertising MUST not be folded! If the number bibs are not worn properly, then the appearance/bonus/prize money will be withdrawn. 

 

If you don’t pick up your bib at the hotel, you must collect it at least 90 minutes before your event in the entrance area in Sollentuna Athletics Hall.

 

Sollentunavallen:  The arena is only 1km from the hotel so it is easy to walk. Entrances for participants, officials and coaches are the upper gates to the arena or via the entrance to Sollentuna Athletics Hall. 

There will be also be a bus service between the hotel and the arena.  Times will be posted at the Welcome desk.  Drop-off and pick-up zone is outside the entrance to the Athletics Hall.

Coaches and Managers

Coaches and managers must wear accreditation which can be picked up from the welcome desk in the hotel. 

Changing rooms: In the Athletics Hall.

Toilets: In the Athletics Hall.

Warm-up: In the Athletics Hall, the artificial grass area behind the main stand and outside the arena in the park next to the lake.  

Warm-up for throws is only allowed in the throwing area in the Athletics Hall.

Call Room and entrance to the arena:  The call room is 3 tents just beyond the finish line.  This will be for the final call and control of shoes, bibs and advertising on equipment and apparel.  Check on the timetable which tent you should go to.

For track events (except hurdles), report at the latest 15 minutes before the start time.  Entrance is 10 minutes before the start time.

For hurdles events, report at the latest 20 minutes before the start time.  Entrance is 15 minutes before the start time.

For field events report 35 minutes before the start time.  Entrance is 30 minutes before the start time.

Clothing baskets:  For 100m, 200m your baskets will be brought from the start to the mixed zone.

For all other running events from 400m and up you should leave your clothes in a basket in the call room/mixed zone area

Mixed Zone:  At the end of their event all competitors should go to the mixed zone, which is the area after the finish line. Officials and coaches are not allowed entry.

Prize ceremonies: There will be no prize ceremonies but winners will receive flowers as they finish and we’d appreciate it if you would run a lap of honour.

Equipment:  You must bring your own implements to be checked at the latest 90 minutes before the start of the event.   Please bring them to Athletics Hall. Alternatively, you can leave them at the Welcome Desk at the hotel before 12:00 on Sunday 10 August.

Competition shoes: Competition shoes must be in accordance with World Athletics rule 5. Spot checks will be made and wearing unauthorised shoes will result in disqualification. 

Doping Control: The EA Technical Delegate will nominate a number of competitors to undergo doping control, which will take place in a specially designated room in the Athletics Hall.

Please remember to take ID with you to the competition as you will need to show it if you are called for doping control.

If you break a national record and need a doping control test, please go to doping control and request the test.

TV coverage. The main competition (16:00-18:00) will be broadcast live on national TV channel, SVT.
