Athletes memo Karlstad Grand Prix, 5th of July 2023

IF Göta Karlstad has the honour to welcome you to Karlstad GP, one of four competitions in the Folksam Grand Prix- series. We hope for good weather, a large and enthusiastic crowd, and great results!


The competition takes place at Sola arena, located centrally in Karlstad. It is within walking distance from the official hotel.

Entry Fee

The entry fee of 150 SEK/event shall be paid before the competition at IF Götas pg 47 37 91-2. (not invited athletes)

It is located approx. 1500 metres from the stadium.

Athletes’ office

In the lobby of the hotel there is an athletes’ office, with staff from the organising club, open Monday July 3 – Thursday July 6. There you can get memos, timetables, maps and get information about transportation.


Massage service is offered for free in the hotel on Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning. Book on site but there is a limited number of times available.


All rooms have wireless internet access for free if you bring your own computer.


Parking for athletes and officials will be just outside the indoor stadium, Eva-Lisa Holtz Arena.


The entrance for athletes and coaches is through entrance C, next to Eva- Lisa Holtz arena.


The bibs are handed out on the hotel (Athletes Office) Wednesday morning (for athletes staying at the hotel) until 11.30 and on the stadium from 12.30 just inside of the athletes entrance. You must pick up your bib at latest 90 min before your event starts. The bibs should not be folded in any way.

Own implements

Athletes who wish to use their own implements shall bring it to the west part of the stadium just outside the last curve at the 1500 start, 90 min before competition for checking.


In the indoor stadium, next to Sola arena, there will be two dressingrooms, one for men and one for women.

Warm Up Area

Athletes can perform their warm up in the indoor stadium, Eva-Lisa Holtz arena, or on the trails running next to the arena. Throwers can warm up at the throwing field on the west side of Eva-Liza Holtz arena.


Calling is held in the indoor stadium, Eva-Liza Holtz arena.

Track events 15 min before start.

Hurdling 20 min before start.

LJ/JT/DT/SP 30 min before start.
HJ 40 min before start.

PV 70 min before start.

Track events

There will be A-B-C-etc. finals in all track events and no heats to qualify for finals.

Bar heights

Will be presented on the night before the competition and in the infodesk (Athletes Office) at the hotel.

Athletes stand

All athletes will be shown to the stands in the first bend.

Autograph zone

All athletes should go through the autograph zone on the way out from the infield. The event coordinator will guide the athletes out.

Mixed zone

All athletes should go through the mixed zone on the way out from the     infield. The event coordinator will guide the athletes out.


The results will be published on our website:


Protests concerning the result or conduct of an event shall be made within 30 minutes of the official announcement of the result of that event. It shall be in writing, signed by the athlete, by someone acting on his behalf or by an official representative of a team and shall be accompanied by a deposit of USD 100.

Prize ceremony

 There will be a ceremony for the winner in each event. For infield events on site and for track after the finishline. In track events there will be prize money only for the runners in A-finals. Only events in the main program has prize money. 


Travel reimbursements, appearance fees and prize money are bank transferred after the meet. There will be a 15 % tax reduction on all prize and appearance money, in accordance with Swedish laws.

Medical service is available at the stadium during competition.


We remind everyone that it is not allowed to be on the infield unless one is competing.
